The group of schools where the Eternal Joy and Peace Home children attend had a program the other day. I had the privilege of attending. When my co-workers and I arrived, we were escorted to the VIP section in the front row. In no way was I expecting this but that is how the Indian culture is. They are very hospitable. The principal of the schools was so happy that I was there to witness the event. He said it was the first time anyone from Back2Back had come. He thanked me repeatedly. It was good to see the children perform dances but also good because I was supporting his work in the schools by being there.
The children were so happy while dancing. It really made me think about their lives and how far they have come. Lives that started in turmoil on the streets or in villages abandoned and alone without a foreseeable future. That isn't the case today! They have a bright future, a future of promise. These children will be able to go back to their villages and spread the word of the Lord. They will influence others and hopefully help fight the cycle of poverty.
