Church and Clinic

July 1, 2012 the remaining group members arrived. Everything went without a hitch. For those of the group that just arrived it was a difficult day because we hit the ground running. We went straight to Mercy Home. Once again upon arrival we were greeted by two lines of children singing and smiling. They were so happy to see us there.

Greeting Us
I went down the line and shook all of their hands. It was great to see them again! We went upstairs for tea and coffee and then prepared for church. The church service was great because I was able to sit with the boys. They did their usual thing where they inched closer to me and others patted the floor next to them to signal me over. They all want affection.

Ready for Church

Church
After church we had a break to set up our medical supplies for our clinic that we would be running. We were blessed this trip to have a doctor and a paramedic in the group. Also an Indian doctor, dentist, and nurse joined us. This was the first time these children have been seen by a doctor. We planned on doing this for every home so hundreds of children were going to be seen! The children range from 4 years old to college age. Can you imagine being in college and never having seen a doctor? What a blessing this clinic was going to be. It obviously gives Back2Back a better understanding of what they are dealing with and what is of the utmost importance.

Explaining His Problems

My New Buddy
Mercy Home has over 200 children and that day we saw 79 kids. That was pretty good for one afternoon with two doctors. The rest of the day was spent getting settled into our rooms and reflecting on the day. Below are some views at Mercy Home:
